Rose Mary Walker Dewalt was born May 1, 1928 in Livingston, Texas to parents Mr. Richard J. Walker Sr. and Mrs. Rosa Jones Walker. She grew up in Livingston, and attended public schools at Dunbar where she graduated. After graduating high school she attended cosmetology school, she was a beautician for many years. She also served as a “Gray Lady” a volunteer worker at Polk County Hospital. On February 6, 1954 she married the love of her life Mr. Edd Dewalt Jr.
At a very early age she accepted Christ in her life, she united with the Anderson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her demise. She was appointed Church Mother and was the Church Secretary for many years.
Mother Dewalt was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, and friend and she was loved by all.
She was preceded in death by both Parents; her Husband; Siblings: Doris J. Starghill; James M. Walker; Martha Walker; Richard Walker Jr.; Nephew: Pastor Theodore J. Curry; Niece: Linda Belt.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughter: Rosalind Bell; Nieces; Carla Belt and Veronica Curry, and a host of nieces, nephews; special friend: Mrs. Maggie Eleby; Mrs. Gracie Darden; and Ms. Shirley King
