On April 9, 1985 in Livingston, Texas a handsome prince named Johnny Johnson Jr. Was born to Johnny Johnson Sr. And Gerald Dean Pitre Johnson.
Johnny Jr. Attended public school in Leggett, Texas graduating from Leggett high school. After graduation, he attended Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas. He was an associate teacher for many years in the Polk county area.
Later in life, Johnny accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of the late Bishop Rayford Chimney. At a very early age, he began singing in church, His first song was “Yes, Jesus loves me.” Johnny’s passion was singing. He was nationally recognized for his gift of singing, directing and getting inquiries and ensembles together he was often called up on to get groups together for many different occasions. He had a selfless heart. He truly focused on carrying out his purpose that God assigned him to. He inspired and touched so many lives, although he was a lifelong member of the Livingston Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Robert Johnson Sr. he served at various churches locally and in the Houston area. He was one of the founding members of “Created for Purpose.” He was employed with the McDuffie’s mortuary in Houston, Texas, where he served faithfully and often called up on to minister in singing.
He will truly be missed. “Gone but never forgotten.” He was preceded in death by his father: Johnny Johnson Sr.; Grandparents: Hazel Johnson, Donnell Johnson Sr., Lee Ester Pitre, Willie Pitre; a host of other relatives and friends Johnny leaves to cherish many great memories, a Loving and Devoted Mother: Minister Gerald Dean Johnson of Livingston, Texas; Brothers: Minister London Johnson, Dewayne (Felecia) Johnson, Demond (Ingrid) Johnson, all of Houston, Texas; God-Sisters: Sis. Timeaka (Pastor Willie) Barnes of New Willard, Texas, Sis. Carenda (William) Youngblood of Houston, Texas; God-Brothers: Jamal Barnes, Jordan Youngblood both of Houston, Texas, Adrian Johnson of Livingston, Texas; God-Parents: Elder Jack Wilson, Missionary Sherry (Marcell) Thomas of Livingston, Texas; Nephews: Dralyn, Isaiah, Xavier, Denzel, Desmond, Dearion; Nieces: Alexus, Asia, Kamille, Taylor, Miracle, Natallie; Aunts: Evangelist Doris (Nathaniel) McMillon, Elder Marie Lewis, Missionary Linda Pitre, Sis. Carolyn (Charles) Youngblood, Betty Williams, Arzelia Barlow, Larzelia Barlow; Uncles: Benny E.
