On May 12, 1937 in Livingston, Texas, a baby boy was born to Arthur and Altharine Wallace, who they named Bobby D. Wallace Sr. He attended public school at Dunbar, Home of the Mighty Leopards, where he graduated in 1957. In 1953 & 1954 they won the Football State Championship and Bobby was inducted into the Dunbar Hall of Fame. He accepted Christ at a very early age and united with Anderson Chapel Baptist Church. Later, he joined Garner Chapel Baptist Church where he was an active Deacon. In his later years, he joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member until his health failed. Bobby was employed with Thomas Supply for over 39 years before retiring. He worked for the Thomas’ for three generations. He was not only an employee, but a life long friend as well. Bobby loved to hunt, fish and horseback ride. From his first union, four children were born, Lorine Jefferson, Barbara Wallace, Dorothy Carter and Bobby Wallace Jr.
Some of his most memorable moments are family visits, receiving gifts, attending church and he liked to joke. Saying things like “Don’t take no wooden nickles or the bull will hook you” or “You look precocious.”
On October 5, 2024, Bobby was visited by angels and departed this life peacefully at his home comforted by his daughters, Barbara Wallace & Lorine Jefferson & his Hospice Nurse. He is proceeded in death by his wife of over 30 years,Velma Wallace; parents: Arthur and Altharine Wallace. Siblings: Henry Lee Wallace, Laura Ann Boyd, Charles Wallace, Wilburn Wallace and Arthur Wallace Jr.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: his daughters: Barbara Wallace, Lorine Jefferson, Dorothy Carter (John), and Son: Bobby Wallace Jr. (Cody). Special Friend Ms. Josephine Bookman and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
